Pioneer in Brain Health & Authentic Leadership
I have spent a large part of my life in environments where sharpness, responsibility, and precision were a matter of course. For more than twenty years, I worked as an officer in the Royal Netherlands Air Force, in a world where mistakes are not an option and pressure is a daily reality. Among other things, as squadron commander at an F-16 air base, I learned what performing under pressure really requires—not only technically, but above all mentally and humanly.

That’s when another question arose in my mind. Not how you can squeeze more and more out of yourself, but how you can survive as a human being at a pace that our biology is not really designed for. I saw up close what prolonged stress, mental overload, and unconscious patterns do, even to people who appear strong and successful. That realization marked the beginning of a deeper exploration of the brain, consciousness, and the connection between body, mind, and soul.
After my military career, I began to study bio- and neurochemistry, neuroplasticity, and brain function intensively. I combined this knowledge with my experience in leadership, coaching, and human development. This combination gave rise to Marvalous Health: not a quick fix or trick, but an integrated program that combines science, technology, and personal guidance. The goal is not only recovery, but to help people regain balance and experience space to grow — whether they are high performers or people who are stuck due to stress, burnout, trauma, or neurological challenges. My work has also taken me outside Europe. In West Africa, I worked with academies such as WAFA in Ghana and ASEC in Ivory Coast, where I supported young athletes in strengthening their focus, mental resilience, and decision-making. Wherever I work, I start from the same conviction: sustainable performance begins with brain awareness.

To make this vision more widely accessible, I founded the Marvalous Health Academy. There, I train professionals to become Marvalous Health Brain Trainers & Coaches. Together, they form a growing community committed to sustainable brain health and human development.
In addition to my work as a trainer and coach, I am also a writer. In my book The Journey of Your Life, published on December 9, 2025, through my own Marvalous Publishing House, I share my personal story. From the cockpit of the F-16 and flying in a MiG-29 to periods of doubt, loss, and inner confrontation. The book reads like an adventurous journey, but is essentially about something very simple: how we sometimes lose ourselves along the way — and how we can find our way back. From surviving to truly living.
I brought the same theme to the theater in October 2025 with Brain Secrets, which premiered on October 16, 2025. In this performance, I combine science, personal experiences, and humor to make the workings of the brain tangible. Not to impose answers, but to increase awareness. Everything I do comes together in one simple belief that continues to guide me:
The future of performance is not about doing more, but about being more — by understanding the power of your own mind.
My intention is to support people, teams, and organizations in remembering what is already present. So that thinking becomes sharper, feeling deeper, and leadership more authentic. Not by forcing yourself, but by reminding yourself who you are in essence. What once began as brain training has grown into a program that opens doors. To consciousness. To freedom. To a “marvalous” life.
