The Journey of your Life

Welcome to the place where your journey begins
Life, sooner or later, asks us all the same question.
Not what do you do?
But: who are you really, beyond roles, achievements, and expectations?
I know exactly what it means to perform at the highest level, under extreme pressure. For many years, I lived in a world of high-performance military aircraft, where focus, control, and precision make the difference between success and failure. Yet it was precisely there that a deeper realization emerged: the most complex and decisive cockpit is not that of an F-16 or a MiG-29, but that of the human brain, heart, and consciousness.
After a career centered on external performance, an inner journey began. A journey through questions of identity, meaning, mental health, and freedom. That search led to profound personal transformation—and to the creation of Marvalous Health: a vision in which science, neurobiology, and consciousness come together to help people move from surviving to thriving and truly living.
That journey comes together in my first book, The Journey of Your Life, published by Marvalous Publishing House on September 9, 2025, in Dutch, and on December 9, 2025 in English. A book that does not merely tell a story, but invites. That not only inspires, but also confronts. And that guides you step by step toward a deeper understanding of who you are and why you are here.
Below you will find a more detailed summary of my book. But consider this above all as an invitation. Because perhaps this is not just a book you are about to read—but the beginning of your journey.
Book summary
A Fascinating Journey to the Core of Life
My journey did not begin with consciousness, meaning, or spirituality. It began with technology. With systems, aerodynamics, performance, and control. As a young man, I was fascinated by everything that was fast, complex, and precise. Aviation called. From a technical background, I found my way to the Royal Netherlands Air Force, into a world where responsibility carries real weight and mistakes leave no room.
Although I was not initially accepted for the job I wanted as an operational fighter pilot, life took me—through an unlikely route—deep into the challenging world of military aviation after all. To crossroads where human and machine meet. Where decision-making under pressure is not theory, but reality. Against expectations, I spent many hours in the cockpit of the F-16. Later, I was even given the opportunity to fly the legendary MiG-29—the aircraft of the former adversary. An experience that was not only technically impressive, but also touched something deeper. Because up there, high above the earth, everything becomes quiet. And honest.
The highly dynamic, sometimes stressful world of military aviation taught me a great deal. About focus. About discipline. About limits. But it also confronted me with another truth: the further you go in performance, the louder the question becomes that you can no longer ignore. Who are you when the noise falls away? What remains when control reaches its limit? That question marked the beginning of another flight. Not a vertical climb, but a descent inward.
The Journey of Your Life is the story of that movement. From speed to stillness. From control to trust. From surviving to living. It takes you from the adrenaline of fighter jets to the moments when everything that once felt certain fell away. Financial setbacks. A divorce. Inner emptiness. Not as drama, but as a necessary passage.
Along the way, I discovered that the real cockpit is not found in an aircraft, but in the brain. And that the most decisive systems in our lives are invisible: beliefs, conditioning, automatic responses. Patterns that once protected us, but later limit us. In this book, I explore how those patterns arise, how the brain shapes our reality, and how—with awareness—we can learn to take the controls again.
The story reads like an adventurous boys’ book, filled with vivid experiences from the air force and the worlds of defense and aviation. At the same time, a deeper layer unfolds. Scientific insights into neuroplasticity and biochemistry are woven together with questions of identity, letting go, and meaning. Not to impose answers, but to create space. Because some insights cannot be forced—they reveal themselves when you become quiet enough to listen.
From that inner journey, Marvalous Health also emerged. Not as a goal, but as a consequence. As a way to make what I lived through myself transferable to others. In the book, I share its foundations: how nutrition affects the brain, how stress becomes stored in the body, how flow arises, and why real growth only begins when both mind and body leave survival mode.
I also take you into the language of symbolism and synchronicity. Into signs that repeat when you pay attention. The number 96. My tattoo. Encounters at exactly the right moment. Not coincidence, but direction. Whispers of something greater that only reveals itself when you dare to trust.
What makes this book essential for me is its raw honesty. I write about moments when nothing worked anymore. When even my bank accounts were frozen. Moments when I lost everything. When the question was no longer what comes next, but who am I without everything I thought I was? It was precisely there that I discovered that letting go is not loss, but a gateway.
The Journey of Your Life is not a manual, nor a conventional life story. It is an invitation. To slow down. To feel where you are living on willpower alone. To explore where you have lost yourself—and how you can return. Ultimately, this book is not about me. It is about you. About the movement from outside to inside. About the difference between functioning and living. About remembering who you are in essence, when the noise falls away.
The greatest journey you will ever make requires no passport. Only courage.
